Puffed wild rice

I have seen Ferran Adria make this puffy wild rice on one of his TV show. It is very easy, all you need is to bring a pot of oil at a very high temperature and dump a handful of wild rice in it. Then, about one minute later, when all the grains have puffed, you drain the whole thing and sprinkle with salt and any spices you might think of. Let's say that this technique worked much better than my rice experiment but not as well as what Ferran Adria did on TV (it looked really puffy). Next time, I'll try to soak the grain in water for a while before frying them; I assume that its the water contained in the grain that is responsible for such expansion.

That is so simply and so good.
